Karmen's Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies

These are MY cookies!
I've adapted them from the Toll House cookie recipe,
but they are pretty standard and are super thick with a crispy outside and soft center!

Makes 3 1/2 dozen
Ingredients:
  • 1 c. Crisco/vegetable shortening
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. white sugar
  • 1 tsp. water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2-3/4 c. chunky peanut butter
  • 2 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2-3/4 c. rolled oats
  • 1 12-oz. bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Season with Love

Directions:
  1. In large bowl, combine shortening, brown sugar, white sugar, water, and vanilla.  Cream together until smooth.
  2. Add 2 eggs and mix until smooth.
  3. Add PB until evenly mixed.
  4. Add flour, soda, and salt until evenly mixed.
  5. Add rolled oats until evenly mixed,
  6. Add chocolate chips until evenly mixed and season with love!
  7. Roll dough into 1 1/2-inch balls, place on cookie sheet, and cook at 350 degrees F for 8-10 minutes. Tops of cookies should be barely golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven, let sit on cookie sheet for 1-2 minutes before transferring to cookie rack.
